Description

ADB is helping Afghanistan build a 550-kilovolt transmission line across the Hindukush mountain range from Dashte Alwan in the north to the capital Kabul in the south. The new line will also carry power imports from Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The project will include a substation connecting to the Kabul grid. Another ADB project will build a substation to connect to the north grid.
